Pressing Pause

I'm sitting in a computer science class on the first day of my second quarter at UW, and I have a feeling of dread about taking this class. I decided to trust my gut, and so I went home that day and dropped the class. At this point, there weren't that many other class options available, and so I signed up for a ceramics class. I felt relieved to finally be on a path away from computer science, but also anxious about what path I wanted to pursue next. At the time, it felt like a hasty decision, but looking back I am glad that I took the time to pause and evaluate my options instead of continuing on a path I wasn't passionate about or jumping into something else too quickly.
