It turned out that my actual college path ended up looking very different from the plan I created during my first quarter at UW in Honors 100. I switched intended majors, career goals, and my outlook on what my college experience would be. After my first year, I knew that computer science wasn't the path for me. I decided to try out some introductory biology courses, and began to rekindle the interest in biology I had throughout high school. I also began thinking about what type of career I would want, which ended up changing many times before the end of my time at UW.
During my first quarter, I was very focused on academics, but I noticed that I was not actually happy with how I was spending my time. I began to try to balance my time more, which was a struggle at first, but after a few quarters I found a balance that worked for me and my personal goals at the time. What I am coming out of college with is not only a great education, but also some of the best friends and memories of my life!
